Chuck Fleischmann trying to look important
It's Time to Chuck CHUCK
U. S. Congressman Chuck Fleischmann of Tennessee has proven by his votes that he does NOT represent the people and needs of the Third District of Tennessee and doesn't deserve another term.  Voters are fed up with all the political partisanship and fighting in Congress.  We want someone who will work to solve real problems and not waste time on wedge issues that only divide our country.
It's time we got a representative who is not afraid to meet voters face to face.

Rep. Fleischmann's
Votes To Plunge Our Economy Into Default By Voting Against Increasing Debt Limit, All In The Name Of A Balanced Budget Like Yours

The following submitted article makes one wonder if Rep. Fleischmann is representing his constituents or his wealthy corporate donors and PACs.  Once again he shows that he is an ideologue unwilling to compromise, even for the good of the country and he makes it sound so reasonable.  Unfortunately what he wants only helps the wealthy.

Congressman Chuck Fleischmann sent out his own video to explain the national debt and the need for fiscal responsibility:

In just under two minutes he made this point:
1.  2/3 of the budget is based on mandatory spending programs, and that’s way to much.
2.  The government should run their budget like good Americans run theirs.

Oddly enough, over 2/3 of the average household budget is mandatory as well*:

Pennsylvania Visitor To State Finds
Rep. Fleischmann To Be A Complete Phony And A Fraud

Below is an unsolicited description of Rep. Fleischmann by a visitor to Tennessee, sent after a chance meeting at a Chattanooga Starbucks.

I had a pleasurable morning sitting in the Third District's Starbucks listening to ChuckChuck babble to his brethren such as the Lt Governor of Tennessee and many others (he was working through a checklist of people to call on July 4th).

As a stranger to these parts, I had to look up this whippersnapper and find out who he was since he seemed to be able to call all kinds of very impressive people while sitting on the patio at Starbucks.

I discovered he was a born in New York and went to a Northern Illinois college.  Much to my surprise here was ChuckChuck babbling on with a SOUTHERN ACCENT. Why I swear you'd think he was a native Tennessee boy. Surprise, Surprise as Gomer Pyle would say. What a fake little prick.   Read more...

Uncompromising Fleischmann Votes To Raise Everyone's Income Tax By Voting No On The Fiscal Cliff Deal

At midnight on January 1, 2013, the Bush era tax cuts that contributed so much to our national debt, expired.  Later that day both houses of Congress and the President agreed to a compromise bill that would restore the income tax to the Bush era levels for individuals making under $400,000 and couples making under $450,000 per year.  The President wanted the level to be on those making under $250,000 per year, but he was willing to compromise.  Income taxes on the wealthiest were allowed to rise to level they were during the Clinton presidency (when we had a balanced budget).  Once again, Rep. Fleischmann was unwilling to compromise, meaning that he voted with his no vote for taxes go up for 100% of his District rather than 2%, because he couldn't have his way.  His professional spin masters can spin it any way they want, but if Fleischmann had gotten Congress to vote his way, everyone's taxes would have gone up and it would have plunged our country into another recession.      Read more...

Chuck Puts on Show - Headrick Talks to the Voters
at Bradley County Forum

Dr. Mary Headrick and Chuck Fleischmann finally had a forum together in Bradley County on October 8. Headrick answered her questions with knowledge and facts, and showed her caring and love for the people of the District by speaking from the heart with a genuine passion not seen in her opponent. Mr. Fleischmann on the other hand put on a great well-rehearsed performance that reminded Woodchuck Chuck of a fundamentalist preacher moving back and forth and waving his arms and speaking loudly as if that would get his message across better. The difference is that fundamentalist preachers do their preaching in church and they actually have something to preach about. Chuck spent most of his two minutes to answer a question with sound bites and political platitudes while Mary actually answered the questions in detail.

Rather than go on and on about the forum I’ll let you read what the folks at the Chattanooga Times Free Press though about the forum in their October 10th Opinions & Editorial.

Fleischmann ducks for cover
It would be hard to name a winner in Monday’s debate between incumbent Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, the Republican who holds Tennessee’s 3rd District Congressional seat, and Dr. Mary Headrick, his Democratic challenger. That’s because it takes two to participate in a debate. Fleischmann, as is his custom, refused to do so. He would not directly address the concerns raised by his opponent. Instead, he provided audience members with obviously well-rehearsed talking points and self-serving remarks. District voters deserve a more engaged representative. Headrick is that person.   Read more...

America - He's Your President for Goodness Sake!
By William Thomas

This article is not specifically about Chuck Fleishmann, but it does represent the disrespect by him and the GOP for our President.  It was written by a Canadian for Senior Living magazine with an outsiders perspective that is often hard for Americans to see. Democrats and Republicans alike.  Of course Woodchuck Chuck could be accused of having no respect for Chuck Fleischman.  Read more...

Incumbent Chuck Fleishmann Ekes out Primary Win with 39.5% of Vote: Woodchuck Chuck Endorses
Dr. Mary Headrick for Congress

Well the Republicans tried to replace ole Chuck “Mr. Negative” Fleischmann in the August 2nd primary, but there was just one candidate too many to pull it off.  First time candidates Scottie “I don’t know what I will do” Mayfield (31.4%) and Weston “I’ll be old enough by election day” Wamp (29%) gave it a good try, but split the vote.  If one of them had not run it is almost certain that Chuck would not be running for re-election in November.  The election results just shows how unpopular Mr. Fleischmann is with Republicans.  Read more...

Rep. Chuck Fleischmann’s Hypocrisy about Lowering the Deficit Shows at May 21st Republican Candidates Debate

Representative Chuck Fleischmann gives a lot of lip service of wanting to lower the deficit and reduce government spending.  He said, quoting the GOP Tea Party line, "We have a spending problem.  To actually come to the American people and say it can even begin to be solved with revenue is wrong."  At the debate he proudly announced that he had pledged (sold his soul), along with 270 other GOP legislators, to conservative lobbyist Grover Norquist of the Americans for Tax Reform, to never raise taxes.  Read more...

Fleischmann Ad Talks About The American Dream,
Too Bad He Doesn’t Vote To Help Others
Get The American Dream

Today we started seeing Chuck Fleischmann’s new feel good, say nothing ads on TV.  The ad basically said I had good parents, my mother died when I was 13, they had good values and I was able to take advantage of the American Dream.  The problem is that while he was able to take advantage of the American Dream of working hard to get ahead and own a home, what he stands for as a Tea Party GOP Representative is to support legislation that stacks the deck against the lower and middle class who are trying to achieve their own American Dream.  Read more...

Chuck Fleischmann Opposes Affordable Health Care
By Repeal Promise

This is a lot to read, but it is important information about the Affordable Care Act that Chuck Fleischmann wants to repeal.

Chuck Fleischmann opposes affordable health care for all by insisting so proudly that he will vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act.  The GOP, the Insurance industry, some in the Health Care industry, and the GOP Super PACs have spent hundreds of millions of dollars trying to convince the American public that the Affordable Care Act (ACA), or as they have labeled it, ObamaCare, is a bad thing and will bankrupt the country.   Read more...

Chuck Fleischmann’s Attempt to Fool Voters Into Believing
He Will Protect Medicare

Rep. Fleischmann’s spin masters are really expert at making one believe that he supports a benefit the voters want when his real intent is to dismantle or gut it so he can support more tax cuts for the very wealthy.

His office recently took advantage of the free (not to taxpayers) mail that members of Congress get to use, to send a mailing that amounts to a campaign mailing asking voters to take a Medicare Survey.  Read more...

Unwilling to Compromise,
Chuck Fleischmann votes against revised
Budget Control Act of 2011

August 2, 2011 - Rep. Fleischman stated that, “I have said all along that a debt ceiling raise must be accompanied by a Balanced Budget Amendment and significant budget reforms.  While ‘Cut, Cap, and Balance’, and an earlier version of the ‘Budget Control Act’, did these things, the bill put forth today did not do so.  As Senator Marco Rubio said this weekend, ‘Compromise that is not a solution is a waste of time.’ Unfortunately, the bill today did not provide real, long-term solutions.”

The above actions by Rep. Fleischmann demonstrate how out of touch he is with the reality of our political system.  Speaker Boehner worked tirelessly with his party, the President, and the Democrats to work out a "compromise" solution to get past the Tea Party's artificial debt crisis vote to decide whether or not the United States government would default on its debt for the first time in the nations history.  Read More...

Welcome to Woodchuck Chuck's Blog

This is Woodchuck Chuck welcoming you to my blog.  When Chuck Fleischmann refused to debate other candidates in the 2010 election, it was a strong warning of what was to come that most people ignored.  This blog will give the voters of the Tennessee 3rd Congressional District ample reasons why re-electing Chuck Fleischmann is not in their best interest.  Like the website name says, its time to chuckChuck.
